Let's Get Well: How This Path Came To Be
What does it mean to get well? Who are we and why are we here?
So, the inspo for Let’s Get Well came from an Ayahuasca ceremony in 2020. It was the most intense ceremony I have been a part of in my six years of moving with this fantastic, unbelievably effective and merciful and loving and painfully real and healing medicine of spiritual awakening. The assistant and translator to the shaman, a woman of presence and power who would soon become my Kambo teacher, told us that the process of purging is also known as “getting well.” That stuck with me. Getting well.
Four years later I was back at it with Ayahuasca, sitting around the fire after the ceremony, meeting for the first time some of the compatriots who would soon be my closest allies on this path of healing once I started working at Pachamama Sanctuary. After sharing trauma stories and rapping for the fun of it, I asserted that call to action: “Let’s get well, my friends, let’s get well.”
Let’s get well is indeed a call for wellness, and its roots are from the same psychic soil from whence Ayahuasca has grown and nurtured me back to wellness. While the path of wellness is not exclusive to those pursuing plant medicine healing, I believe there is no greater teacher on planet Earth than Ayahuasca in helping us heal. In my book, she is the grandmaster of healing and she is here to help us become better people. She wants us to be well. She wants us to be happy. She is here to help us across the great river of suffering and sorrow.
I have learned through painful experience that Ayahuasca teaches us the right way of living, a way of serious commitment to honoring these precious lives that have been gifted by the mysterious forces of the cosmos which extend far beyond our sensual perception. Our lives are indeed sacred, because all of reality is sacred. It is a miracle that we even exist at all. And it is such a precious opportunity we have to be here, living our lives on this planet which needs our help in healing and actualizing to our fullest collective potential. We are here to have a great time, yes, but also to do the work of advancing the evolution of life and consciousness on planet Earth and beyond.
Ayahuasca helps us align with our spiritual journeys of self-realization and the actualization of our purpose--to cultivate our unique gifts and offer them to all in the spirit of love and happiness. I am so happy to have found this path, because it is the most powerful and effective way of returning to who I am so that I may enact this mission with my dear friends and fellow adventurers of healing and awakening.
Beyond plant medicine, this path is for everyone. You don’t need to work with plant medicines to find your path and purpose or to cultivate your gifts. The path of getting well is the path of right diet, mindfulness, breathwork, movement & physical training, energy work, morality, creativity, joy, manifestation, and a sincere desire to become your truest and fullest potential while you are here in the ceremony of your life. This is a path that we all can walk. And we all should walk it together, in the spirit of remembering who we are, that we are here to have a great life together in communion with our beautiful Mother Earth, joining her in the artistry of spirit and love. She is the one who has summoned us here, this great Mother Spirit of All, and it is for her that we show up to live our lives well.
OK, on a less woo-woo note, I understand we are here to be happy and well. So, whatever your vision for happiness and wellness, whatever path you cultivate for yourself, I entreat you to join me on this journey. We can do it, but only if we allow ourselves to join forces with each other and the magical beings of nature and spirit. So, my friends, my family, let’s get well.
